Mission and Outreach

Gordon Globe

Our newsletter is distributed on the first Sunday of the month. It contains editorials, messages from the minister, special articles, children’s pages, and upcoming events.

Emergency Foodbank

Food, donated by the congregation and placed in bags by the Mission TEAM, provides a 1-2 day supply of food for people in need in the neighbourhood.

Canada Day Celebration

Each year the church hosts a booth at the Canada Day celebrations in Richmond Park, across the street from the building. We give out free juice and hand out information on our programs, such as our summer Vacation Bible School.

Yearly Mistletoe Market

The Margaret Hall Group organizes the Mistletoe Market every fall and invites friends, family and the neighbourhood to come and enjoy a lunch, silent auction, bake sale, craft sale and activities for children.

Shoebox Party

In the fall, the congregation meets in the lower hall to put together small gifts in shoe boxes to be sent to children in third world countries for Christmas.

Camp Douglas

Camp Douglas is a wonderful Presbyterian camp located on the Sunshine Coast. We fundraise for the camp and we also have a Camp and Bursary Fund to help families send their children to camp who could not otherwise afford it.

Progressive Housing Society: Lunch Program

We supply sandwiches once a month to the Burnaby Resource Centre run by the Progressive Housing Society. A group meets at 10:30am on the first Wednesday of the month.

Presbyterians Sharing

This fund supports the national programs and ministries of the Presbyterian Church in Canada. It makes possible our existence as a church denomination in Canada. It enables us to do mission and ministry in Canada and around the world.

PWS&D

Presbyterian World Service and Development is our way of working overseas through church and community partners and ecumenical bodies responding to human needs in Africa, Asia, Latin America and Eastern Europe.
